Welcome to Oceanside United Reformed Church

“Welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.”

– Romans 15:7

At Oceanside United Reformed Church, "welcome" means much more than just an invitation—it’s the heart of our faith. The “gospel” or good news of Jesus is that he welcomes us as we are: “God so loved the world [of sinners] that he gave his only Son [Jesus] that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). He invites you to believe in him to receive his eternal life!

  • Are you burdened? Jesus gives rest! (Matt. 11:28)

  • Are you spiritually sick? Jesus heals! (Matt. 9:13)

  • Are you broken-hearted and crushed in spirit? Jesus saves! (Ps. 34:18)

Welcoming us by his grace, he begins to transform our lives, one step at a time, “from one degree of glory to another” (2 Cor. 3:18).

We have been welcoming sinners just like you from Carlsbad, Oceanside, and North County San Diego since 2000. We know that visiting a new church can be both exciting for some and overwhelming for others, but we hope this website helps you find your place here. Whether you're searching for the ultimate meaning of life and you’re not even sure God is real, you’re new in faith in Jesus, or you’re seeking a deeper faith and connection to a church, you’re welcome here!

Sundays at 10:00 am & 5:00 pm (September–May) and in the summer 10:00 am & 12:00 pm (June–August).

What to Expect

The Gospel

Jesus is front and center in all we are and do as a congregation. God saves sinners—this is the message of Scripture and Jesus is this Savior of the world. Every Sunday we hear his voice in the preaching of the “gospel” (good news), celebration of communion, singing and praying in his name, and extending love to any and all who find their way to us.

Worship Together

Experience meaningful worship that is saturated with Scripture, utilizes ancient patterns of prayer, sings three thousand year old Psalms, theologically-rich hymns from the Christian tradition, as well as a some contemporary hymns and a few biblical praise songs. We do this in a space where the intergenerational family of God comes together and children participate alongside grandparents and parents in a shared faith.

Grow in Faith

We take the Bible seriously. We don’t just say we believe it’s God’s Word, we practice it. Sundays and all gatherings such as Anchored (men’s ministry) & women’s Bible study, are full of the reading and preaching, teaching, and discussing the Word. Together, in community and prayer, we grow up in our faith.

Belong to a Community

Here you will find fellowship with a diverse people from many tribes and tongues, from many backgrounds, of all ages and places in life. We all belong to a church family. With a pastor, elders, deacons, and congregation, we practice a meaningful membership where we seek to love and support one another.

Be Transformed

Encounter the grace of Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit. He welcomes sinners and promises to change sinners’ lives from the inside out.

Hospitality

We are a hospitable church, looking out for newcomers to welcome into the family. We also express hospitality in our homes every Sunday, so expect to be invited in to share a meal with us.
