Life
Rev. Hyde is a son of Southern California. He was born in Long Beach, California, and grew up in northern Orange County and Redondo Beach boogie boarding and playing basketball. He now lives in Oceanside with his wife and college sweetheart, Karajean, to whom he was married in 1998, and their sons, Cyprian and Caiden.

Education
After being brought to faith in Jesus Christ at the age of 17 1/2, Rev. Hyde attended Southern California College, where he was influenced to pursue further study of the Christian Faith by Dr. Ronald Wright. He then attended "Westminster West" and studied under men such as Drs. W. Robert Godfrey, Meredith Kline, Edmund Clowney, Robert Strimple, and Michael Horton. Currently he is a Master of Theology (Th.M.) candidate at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, where his advisor is Dr. Joel Beeke.

Calling
Rev. Hyde was ordained on July 23, 2000 at the Escondido United Reformed Church with the calling to be their church planter of a new Reformed Church in the coastal North County of San Diego. In November 2002 he became the pastor of the Oceanside United Reformed Church.

Service to the Churches
In addition to his calling, Rev. Hyde also served as a member of the URCNA's Committee for Ecumenical Relations and Church Unity (CERCU) from January 2005–June 2007 and was Stated Clerk of Classis Southwest U.S. of the URCNA from April 2004—February 2007. He currently is a member of the URCNA's "Study Committee on Doctrinal Commitment and Communicant Membership."

Personal
Some of his favorite authors and books are John Calvin (Institutes of the Christian Religion), J.R.R. Tolkien (The Hobbit) the poetry of John Donne, the writings of John Steinbeck, the writings of Hughes Oliphant Old on worship (e.g., The Patristic Roots of Reformed Worship), Michael Horton (e.g., In the Face of God), and John Williamson Nevin (e.g., The Anxious Bench).

His hobbies are watching the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (or wherever they are from these days), eating at Fidel's Norte in Carlsbad or Leucadia Pizzeria in Encinitas, raising his Dachsunds, Jerome and Xerxes, collecting Curious George® memorabilia, and numismatic coins.
