Life
Pastor Danny is a son of Southern California. He was born in Long Beach and grew up in northern Orange County and especially Redondo Beach boogie boarding and playing basketball. He now lives in Oceanside with his wife and college sweetheart, Karajean, to whom he was married in 1998, and their sons, Cyprian ('04), Caiden ('06), and Daxton ('09).
Education
After being brought to faith in Jesus Christ at the age of 17 1/2, Pastor Danny attended Southern California College (now Vanguard University) in Costa Mesa, California, on a basketball scholarship, where he was influenced to pursue further study of the Christian faith by Rev. Ronald Wright. He then attended Westminster Seminary California in Escondido, studying under Drs. W. Robert Godfrey, Meredith Kline, Edmund Clowney, Robert Strimple, and Michael Horton. Subsequently he has earned his Master of Theology at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a thesis entitled, "Of Great Importance and of High Concernment: The Liturgical Theology of John Owen." His thesis advisor was Dr. Joel Beeke as his readers were and Drs. Derek W. H. Thomas and Mark Jones.
Calling
Pastor Danny was ordained on July 23, 2000 at the Escondido United Reformed Church (URCNA) with the calling to be their church planter to bring the first Reformed church to the coastal North County of San Diego. In October 2002 the Oceanside United Reformed Church ceased as a church plant and became an organized congregation, which then called him to be their pastor in November 2002. His passion is to preach the gospel and to teach the riches of the whole counsel of God so that those who are lost might be found and that those who have been found might be sanctified.
